Our Philosophy

When we take care of the land, it takes care of us. We are stewards of a beautifully complex network of soil, water, plants, animals, and humans. When stewarded in a regenerative way, we can all benefit. We grow crops using natural inputs sourced locally. We do not use chemicals, large machinery, or excessive tillage.

Regenerative or Conservation Farming follows these main principles: keep the soil covered as much as possible, disturb the soil as little as possible, keep the soil planted as much as possible, and increase biodiversity.

Caring for the Land:

Regenerative

Rehabilitation of our native topsoil is our main focus. By using conservation practices we strive to increase biodiversity, water retention, and enhance the ecosystem in our area.

No Till

We avoid disturbances that cause long-term damage to the soil. We use tillage as a strategic tool to open up new garden beds. Those beds then become permanent No-Till beds.

No Tractor

By using hand-held tools, we gain a closer relationship to the land and the food we produce, while avoiding excessive tillage, heavy machinery, maintenance, gasoline, and noise.

Eat the Best Quality Food

The core of our beliefs lie at one of the intersections of humans and nature: food. We are born of this place, and this place has the power to nourish us. We think that our minds and bodies work best with fresh, local, chemical free, and nutrient-dense food.
